1. Transfer students must register for prerequisite courses designated by the SGCS department. Be sure to contact the department for guidance before registering.
2. Students who did not register for any courses on the designated date and returning students may register on August 30 (Fri) and during the course registration change (add/drop) period on September 6 (Fri).
3. Students who registered for courses that were canceled can make additional registrations on August 30 (Fri).
4. Some courses may be canceled based on cancellation criteria after the registration period.
※ Course entry period for professors for the fall semester of 2024: September 10 (Tue) 09:00 ~ September 13 (Friday) 24:00
※ Course withdrawal period for the fall semester of 2024: September 30 (Mon) 09:00 ~ October 2 (Wed)
2. Course Registration Procedure and Credit Application
You should have at least 16 credits after add/drop period (Sep. 6) and at least 15 credits after the withdrawal period (Sep. 30) to be eligible for Global Scholarship 2 for the next semester.
(7th semester students should have at least 12 credits after add/drop period (Sep. 6) and at least 9 credits after the withdrawal period (Sep. 30) to be eligible for Global Scholarship 2 for the next semester).
However, students who have completed at least 16 credits in the previous semester (or 12 credits in the semester immediately before graduation) with no F grades and whose GPA is within the top 10% of their department are allowed to register for up to 3 credits more than the maximum allowable credits for course registration.
※ Course withdrawal and add/drop period are note the same.
3. Course withdrawal
Withdrawal period: 2024 September 30 (Mon) 09:00 ~ October 2 (Wed) 24:00
- You can withdraw only 1 course
- Once you withdraw the course you cannot restore it in the current semester.
- Please make sure you have at least 15 credits after the withdrawal period. (in case you do not acquire at least 15 credits in the end of semester you will not be not eligible for Global Scholarship 2 for the next semester, even though you GPA is high)
- If it's your 7th semester, you must have at least 9 credits after the withdrawal period (in case you do not acquire at least 9 credits in the end of semester you will be not eligible for Global Scholarship 2 for next semester, even though you GPA is high)
- You cannot withdraw the ‘retake’ courses
- You cannot withdraw from the courses after October 2.
8. Retake
- You can retake courses with a grade of C+ or lower, a total of 8 credits (maximum of 2 courses) per semester.
- You can retake the same course only once
- You can retake a total of 24 credits before graduation. (not applied to required courses)
- Retaken courses cannot be withdrawn
9. Notes
※ 1-2 semester students, please do not do any course registration, all the courses will be registered for you.
※ 3-4 semester students, Academic Korean for Foreign Students I/II will be registered for you. (leave 3 credits for the course)
FOR IBT STUDENTS:
The course 'Convergence of Business Administration & Engineering Capstone Design (Theory)' and 'Convergence of Business Administration & Engineering Capstone Design (Practice)' is the same as the course 'Business Model Development Capstone Project' (IBT4204). Theory and Practice courses must be taken at the same time.
- Students enrolled before 2024-1 semester: To graduate, if you have not taken 'Business Model Development Capstone Project' (IBT4204) before, you will have to take theory and practice courses (total of 4 credits) instead.
The course ‘Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IBT4108)’ is the same as the course ‘Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IBT4104)’ course
FOR ISE STUDENTS:
'General Physics' course should be taken during the 2nd semester.
The course 'IT and Patent' is the same as the course 'Theory and Practice of Intellectual Property (ISE3136)
The course 'Convergence of Business Administration & Engineering Capstone Design (Theory) and Convergence of Business Administration & Engineering Capstone Design (Practice)' is the same as the course 'ISE Capstone Design (ISE4230)' Theory and Practice courses must be taken at the same time.
- Students enrolled before 2024-1 semester: To graduate, if you have not taken 'ISE Capstone Design (ISE4230)' before, you will have to take theory and practice courses (total of 4 credits) instead.
The course ‘Technology Innovation & Entrepreneurship (IBT4108)’ is the same as the course 'Technology Development and Entrepreneurship (GEE4004)' course
VIP Theory and VIP Practice courses must be taken at the same time.
※ If you are not a freshman but still need to enroll in Korean Courses, please contact the SGCS office.
We will assist you with the registration process.
Note that you need to take Korean courses in the following order: Basic Korean, Intermediate Korean, Academic Korean I, Academic Korean II.
For example, if you wish to enroll in Academic Korean II but not completed Academic Korean I, you will need to complete Academic Korean I before you can register for Academic Korean II.
The SGCS office receives requests for Korean courses till August 16 (Fri), 2024.
